Different Strokes: Zipie Hits the Fairway for Charity

At Zipie, it’s our mission to keep client relationships up to par. So when our client, Bates Security, approached us to be a part of their golf scramble for Bluegrass Crime Stoppers, we embraced the opportunity to tee up and—of course—give back.

Bluegrass Crime Stoppers encourages members of the community to assist local law enforcement agencies in the fight against crime by overcoming the two key elements that inhibit community involvement: fear and apathy. On Friday, June 8, Zipie sponsored their annual half-day golf scramble at Kearney Hills Golf Course.

As the only ad agency on the sponsor list, we took our job seriously. Rob, our Digital Strategist, was so passionate about his craft that he used his 9 iron for every single hole. Six Team Zipie members attended the event as golfers and tent staffers. Our interactive tent at hole #18 included cornhole and mechanical horse racing games, as well as candy and sunglasses for all attendees. We enjoyed the opportunity to meet members of our community, promote awareness of our brand and—obviously—play some golf.

When it came to golf, the Zipponians were persistent, yet appalling at their craft. A particular highlight of the game was our 10-stroke effort on a par-5. After careful consideration, we’ve decided to stick to advertising, but we look forward to continuing our charitable efforts in Lexington.

In addition to our recent support of Bluegrass Crime Stoppers, we’re proud of our ongoing partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Bluegrass. Our team enjoys preparing meals for the residents of the Ronald McDonald House, and our Zinterns are currently volunteering by creating their social media content. In the past, our Zinterns have also helped Adopt An Art and Bluegrass Greensource. But it doesn’t stop there—we’re always looking for new ways to get involved. Could your event benefit from some Zipie magic (and by Zipie magic, we of course mean the aforementioned killer golf skills and mechanical horse racing)? If yes, we want to hear from you.
